#TogetherForBedfordshire - a round up from our community policing teams |
||
#TogetherForBedfordshire | It’s been a busy week for the officers from our Community Cohesion team in Luton as they attended The Gospel Pentecostal Church for the GP Ministries coffee morning, joined the Jewish community as they celebrated Succoth at the Luton Synagogue, and attended All Saints Church on Sunday to celebrate the annual Windrush Legacy event.
Meanwhile in the north of the county, PSCOs from the Bedford Community team held a police surgery at the Police Hub in Bedford Bus Station and spoke to several members of the public regarding various issues and concern. They were also successful in spotting a man wanted for robbery, who was taken into custody.
Over at the airport, the Luton Airport Policing team were made aware a drone flying in the Flight Restriction Zone. The report came in from the pilot of an incoming aircraft who had spotted it and alerted the control tower.
Just a heads-up — flying drones near airports can be highly dangerous. Even a small drone can cause serious damage to an aircraft, especially during take-off or landing. That puts lives at risk — and could land you in serious legal trouble. The area around the airport is a Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ), and you must have permission to fly there.
Officers from the Leighton Buzzard Community team met Rookie – the tobacco detection dog who helped uncover a hidden stash of illegal vapes, tobacco, and cigarettes worth around £16,000 during a raid on a vape shop in the town.
Don’t forget you can report concerns directly to us online or by calling us on 101. https://www.beds.police.uk/ro/report | ||
